A DREAMY DESTINATION WEDDING IN JODHPUR
Deepshikha and Shaurya were introduced to each other by their parents who played Cupid between the couple. They tied the knot in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where WeddingSutra Favorite – Theme Weavers Designs a well-known destination wedding planner in Jodhpur, planned the celebrations to perfection.
How they met
Deepshikha shares, “I met Shaurya through an arranged marriage setup proposed by our parents. As soon as we got into talking, we discovered that we had common interests and similar values, and knew we were meant to be together.”
Wedding Venue
“I had always dreamt of getting married at my home, so we decided to have the pheras in the garden at my residence. The team at Theme Weavers Designsrecommended venues that clearly resonated with our vision for the wedding functions! We hosted the cocktail party at Bijolai Palace – A Inde Hotel, and for the sangeet, we picked Newton’s Manor, which is a heritage villa that looks similar to the ones in Italy. For the mehndi, our first preference was the Taj Hari Mahal, which is a renowned property, and we got lucky as it was available on the specific date.”
Wedding Planning
“We meticulously looked into the minutest of details while planning the wedding and made sure our guests felt welcomed and comfortable. Our wedding included a blend of local nuances with modern touches. The entire team of Theme Weavers Designs a well-known destination wedding planner in Jodhpur put together a magical wedding for us. It was an experience planned with love and passion that touched every person’s heart. We picked WeddingSutra Favorite – Puneet Gupta Invitations to design our wedding cards, and they did a marvelous job.”
Wedding Functions
Cocktail
The first of many functions was the psychedelic cocktail night hosted at the Bijolai Palace overlooking a serene lake. Deepshikha looked stunning in a white sequined corset and trousers set by Tanieya Khanuja, whereas Shaurya rocked a navy blue kurta and bandhgala set.
Mehndi
A vibrant Rajasthani themed mehndi function was held by the pool where Shaurya and Deepshikha walked in holding hands. She wore a beautiful mustard yellow and rani pink Faabiiana lehenga, and he opted for a beige kurta with a velvety teal waistcoat by Tarun Tahiliani. The decor was a pleasing fusion of boho and Rajasthani pop art!
Sangeet
The sangeet had a retro ‘The Great Gatsby’ theme, and the decor included glittering lights and romantic red roses for a dramatic touch. The highlight of the evening was the choreographed dance performances by family members. Deepshikha dazzled in a shimmery silver Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna gown, while Shaurya donned a navy blue achkan by Giorgio Armani.
Wedding and Reception
The couple threw a grand reception with an ‘Orient Express’ theme that beautifully depicted a royal journey decorated in a blue and gold color palette, followed by the pheras at Deepshikha’s house. Their families were dressed in traditional Rajasthani ensembles. The bride looked pretty in a red and pink heavily embroidered Rimple & Harpreet Narula lehenga, whereas the groom looked regal in a beige sherwani by Raghavendra Rathore which he paired with a pink turban.
