HOW TO MAKE PANDEMIC WEDDINGS SAFE

Congratulations! The most awaited occasion in your life, your wedding is fast approaching. What do you do now? Select the right venue, Tick. Hire your favorite caterer, Tick. The best photographer, Tick. When all of this is done, remember you need to ensure your wedding is as safe as is it grand.

As a successful wedding and event designer for more than a decade, we rely on our intimate venue knowledge, thorough processes and first-hand practical expertise to guide our clients in making decisions that will ultimately affect how their celebrations turn out.

  1. Stick to the guest limit advise:

Probably the biggest challenge for weddings today, you need to whittle down your guest list, and for good reason. We don’t just want your day to be memorable, we also want your day to remain unscathed from illness, be able to track and trace and also be legally correct by adhering to the current state-wise government guidance. Not only does that reduce the risk of transmission but also has other positives! You get to keep your date, you have a bigger budget to work with, and all your extended F&F can still share the experience on the trending ‘Zoom shaadi’.

  • Choose an all-encompassing venue:

At the outset, this may sound obvious, but in these pandemic times, the venue should be one of the top decisions you make. It must have:

  • Twice the space than the number of guests to allow for physical distancing.

  • Three or more celebration spaces inside it to allow for different ceremonies to be held at multiple outdoor spaces, enhancing variety and instagrammability.

  • Good bets are heritage properties and grand palaces, which may well be within reach as your budget now allows it.

  • Spaces are usually beautifully decorated to begin with and reduces the risk that comes with adding a massive decoration team.

  • Make sure that it has its own catering, so you minimise any additional on-ground staff.

Ban the Buffet

A buffet? For a pandemic wedding? Really? We would suggest you go all cancel culture on this idea. By doing so, you will minimize unnecessary movement of the guests and elude the hazard of waiting lines. Secondly, a plated service will make sure that multiple people are not touching the same cutlery. Your wait staff will ensure that all folks are safely served food in sanitized tableware.

There’s No Such Thing as Too Many Sanitizers or Masks

One may inquire, what’s the modern-day nightmare? We’ll tell you! People without masks or an unexpected scarcity of sanitizers. If you are concerned that a guest might show up without a mask, then stack up your own supply. You can make this mundane duty of stocking masks more fun by playing with the designs and even get them customized using wedding dates and couple’s nicknames.

As for sanitizing, install hand wash or sanitizer stations at the entrance and near the dining area matching with the theme of the event. You can even put together delightful little care packages that have mini sanitizer bottles, masks, and some other wedding favors.

  • If you kiss, you risk!

Don’t rush up to others expecting warm hugs and kisses. We understand that at such a momentous occasion, friends and families joy should not be curtailed. However, respectfully keep your distance, and encourage others to do the same. Have polite, cute, and humorous signs around the place reminding people the rules of this wedding.

Apart from the obvious physical distancing and above-mentioned measures, your planner must have the 21-pointer safety checklist to close all loopholes.

Yet, if you feel that 50 -100 guests just won’t cut it and you are up for making it big then talk to us. There are creative and safe ways to have more than 500 guests. (Book in a consultation)…don’t hold back on your dreams and go on to say, “I DO”.
